Steadily and surely, the news surrounding ESPN Bet sportsbook's massive November 2023 launch continues to take shape. We now have a more specific timeframe to look out for the newest monster hopping into the online sportsbook business.

ESPN Bet is set to preview the highly anticipated sportsbook on Nov. 9, 2023, per Sports Betting Dime's Robert Linnehan.

This special Thursday preview is set to take place at the third annual ESPN Edge conference in New York, NY, which is sure to create quite the buzz in the now-legal online sports gambling industry.

"The third annual event will feature a showcase of the ESPN BET launch from Jay Snowden, PENN Entertainment CEO and President, and Mike Morrison, Vice President of Sports Betting & Fantasy for ESPN," Linnehan wrote on Thursday.

Initially announcing the game-changing partnership this past August, ESPN and new partner PENN Entertainment seek to make serious noise upon its November 2023 launch. However, when exactly the ESPN Bet app, and subsequently, the ESPN Bet promo code, will launch, is still up in the air.

Early speculation surrounded the all-important Thanksgiving date of later November, as PENN CEO Jay Snowden basically said as much. It makes complete sense, too, considering the NFL's Thanksgiving weekend blends perfectly with its unquestioned status as the online sports betting king.

Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, features a Thanksgiving tripleheader no online sportsbook would feel comfortable bypassing:

  • Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions: 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX
  • Washington Commanders vs. Dallas Cowboys: 4:30 p.m ET on CBS
  • San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks: 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC

This monstrous weekend coupled with the Nov. 9, 2023, preview date lends the average legal sports gambler to believe that ESPN Bet will, indeed, be live at some point in mid-November.

Not only does it equate to the ESPN Bet mobile app going live in the iOS Apple App Store and Android Google Play rather soon, but it also means sports bettors can scoop up what's guaranteed to be an intriguing ESPN Bet sportsbook promo.

With ESPN Bet slated to launch in at least 16 states in mid-November, stick with Newsweek throughout this entire process to keep up with the details and take advantage of the upcoming new-user bonus.

Besides, relying only on the multitude of ESPN Bet personalities sure to promote the mobile app and promo code simply isn't as fun.

ESPN Bet to launch Nov. 14, 2023 (editor's note per Nov. 2, 2023, at 9:20 a.m. ET)

PENN Entertainment publicly revealed that the ESPN Bet app now has a specific launch date. On Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, PENN and the Worldwide Leader in Sports will make the next big sportsbook instantly live in 17 states.

"Finally, we are excited to announce that we plan to simultaneously launch ESPN BET on November 14 across the 17 states in which we operate online sports betting, subject to final approvals," the press release reads. "This strategic alliance is expected to further expand our digital ecosystem and drive re-engagement with the millions of customers in our digital and retail databases, leading to compelling cross-sell opportunities."

The date makes sense, considering the app will be previewed on Nov. 9 at the third-annual ESPN Edge Conference, and ensuring it's released prior to the NFL's monster Thanksgiving tripleheader later in the month (Week 12) is essential.

The Nov. 14 date means users can download and become acquainted with the new online sportsbook prior to NFL Week 11, beginning with a Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals Thursday Night Football affair on Nov. 16.
