Battle of Wills: Anna Gray vs Shannon Price

Another Gary Coleman will has surfaced. This one was executed on February 3, 2005 and filed in Utah, naming Anna Gray the sole beneficiary of the former child actor’s estate.

The 23-page document also stated that if she did not survive him, his prized Lionel trains were to go to three different train shops in California.

Though we have heard that Coleman didn’t have much to leave anyone, other than a home near Provo that is worth approximately $300K, his lawyer, Randy Kester, is quick to point out that the real fight will be “over what might happen in the future.” He points out that a book and movie deal are real possibilities, which could greatly inflate the value of the estate.

Gary’s agent, Robert Malcolm has shed some light on the mystery woman, Anna Gray. He indicates they met in 1997 and she moved into his L.A. home a few months later. Their relationship was one of friendship and developed into a business partnership. She became CEO of a corporation that he established.

Coleman met Shannon Price in 2005, and he and Gray moved to Utah so that he could be closer to his new girlfriend. Malcolm said, “When Shannon moved in, the relationship got difficult because Shannon didn’t like the fact that there was somebody else in his life, and, of course, he sided with Shannon, and Anna was asked to leave.”

Gary signed an addendum to the 2005 will, dated September 4, 2007, written while the two were still married. The actor wrote: “I made this change of free will and was not coerced in any way. This I have done because of my personal selfishness and weakness and I love her with all my heart.”

Shannon, not wasting any time, has filed the addendum in court in an effort to get her share of Gary’s estate. She has raised eyebrows for the way she handled the now infamous 911 call and then failed to follow the ambulance to the hospital because she wasn’t feeling well. She shocked the nation when she posed for photos with her ex-husband on his death bed and then sold them to a tabloid for $10,000.

The legal fight may well center upon the fact that Gary and Shannon divorced shortly after he changed the will to make Price his sole beneficiary. Shannon’s case is probably stronger based upon the fact that she and Gary were still cohabiting in Utah at the time of his death. She has told the media that they were planning to remarry. We shouldn’t rule out Coleman’s estranged parents as interested parties in the matter. In any case, it should be interesting.
