Kenny Chesney’s concert in Pittsburgh on Saturday, July 2, resulted in dozens of hospitalizations and five arrests, according to reports.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that 57 emergency medical transports were requested on Saturday night and 25 people were hospitalized for intoxication and alcohol-related injuries.

City public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler told the news outlet that five people were arrested on charges including trespassing, ticket robbery, simple assault and public intoxication. There were also several fights at the arena, one of which resulted in a police officer injuring his hand.

In the hours leading up to Chesney’s performance, police also cited 36 people for underage drinking around the Heinz Field stadium and charged three people with drug offenses.

After the concert ended, there was a “reeking, hulking mass of garbage left over” and people “covered their noses with their shirts to escape the stench” from overflowing portable toilets, according to the Post-Gazette

TribLive reports that crews worked through the night to remove 48 tons of garbage left by an estimated 15,000 tailgaters in the arena's parking lots.

Despite the night’s events, Pittsburgh Chief Operations Officer Guy Costa said during a press conference on Sunday, July 3, that the city was “very pleased” with the police department’s response.

This wasn’t the first time that the Pittsburgh stop of the 48-year-old country singer’s tour made national headlines. In 2013, his show at the city’s PNC Park resulted in more than 70 arrests, several brawls and over 30 tons of trash left in and around the venue, according to Rolling Stone.
