SPENCER Sutherland has been hiding a secret girlfriend back home in America while he attempts to become the next X Factor champion.

The singing hopeful has been dating Hollywood actress Madison Iseman since 2015 but Spencer - who made it through to Judges' Houses after impressing coach Louis Walsh in the Six Chair Challenge - has so far kept quiet about the romance.

Madison's Instagram account features candid pictures of the loved-up pair that date as far back as 2015.

Twenty-year-old Madison is best known for playing the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus' character on US sitcom Still the King.

She's also been cast in the highly-anticipated Jumanji sequel opposite Jack Black, Dwayne Johnson, Nick Jonas and Kevin Hart.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will be released on 22 December and marks Madison's biggest acting role to date.

But Madison could be walking the red carpet alone if Spencer's journey on The X Factor continues past Judges' Houses.

The hunky hopeful will be put to the test in Istanbul as Louis Walsh and Mika whittle down the boys category.

In a recent Instagram post that shows Madison leaning in to Spencer's shoulder, she dedicated a heartfelt message to her beau.

She captioned the sweet snap: "I miss you already. I'm so proud of you, have a blast in London.

"You're the coolest dude I know, I ain't even lying. Btw (sic) friends, watch The X Factor UK because this guy is gonna win it."

Spencer has already enjoyed success in the US and has appeared on several high-profile chat shows to promote his music.

In news that could spark fear into Madison, earlier this year Spencer confirmed that he would consider dating a fan.

When asked by People magazine if a fan he would date a follower, he revealed: "Yeah of course, why wouldn't you? If someone feels that way about your music and feels that way about you, that's halfway there."

Describing essential qualities in a girlfriend, Spencer revealed: "Trust. They have to be funny and have a good sense of humour."

Spencer recently opened up on his incredible weight loss and how it's impacted his love life.

Spencer weighed 19 st 4lbs but slimmed down to 12st 2lb after getting "devastating" feedback during an audition for a musical at high school.

The 25-year-old said he was "borderline obese".

“I was really big. I was trying out for the lead part in a High School Musical play - Zac Efron’s character - and they said: ‘Your voice is perfect for the part but you don’t really fit the image’.

"I was 270lbs and Zac Efron is 150lbs and that dug deep so I just took that, ran with it and started running and lifting weights.

"I’d run in the morning and I’d run at night. I’d eat really healthily.

“It took me about a year and I lost over 100 lbs.”

Spencer, who previously performed with Ariana Grande said his love life improved after he lost weight.

“I lost 60lbs in two months over the summer and I went back for my senior year at high school and finally I was this skinny guy," he said.

"It was the first time all these girls like gave me attention and it is the coolest thing in the world. I know it sounds shallow.

"There is still like a fat kid in me that wants pizza all the time. I eat carbs, but oatmeal and rice - the healthy kind.

“I don’t have things like pizza and burgers any more. Pancakes are my weakness.”
